2009 Event Descriptions

StoryPlace

11 a.m.—4 p.m., Boston Public Library Mezzanine Conference Room

Open, shut them, open, shut them, give a little clap clap clap…. StoryPlace is the destination for families at Boston Book Festival 2009.  Listen to storytellers read from much-loved books including Mo Willem’s Don’t Let The Pigeon Drive The Bus, Anna Dewdney’s Llama Llama Red Pajama, Tommy De Paola’s Strega Nona and of course, Robert McCloskey’s Make Way for Ducklings.

Learn to yodel with author ALICIA POTTER and her pal Fritz, a fandango-dancing sheep and star of her new book, Fritz Danced the Fandango. Illustrate your own history book with author/illustrator KATHERINE ROY and her new book A Kid’s Guide to Boston’s Freedom Trail.  Celebrate Halloween – in rhyme – with RICHARD MICHELSON and his new book Oh No, No Ghosts!

At StoryPlace you can also meet some of your favorite book characters. Curious George, The Man in the Yellow Hat, Clifford the Big Red Dog, Madeline, and Nutcracker and Bear from The Boston Ballet's The Nutcracker will all be visiting StoryPlace throughout the day.

Sponsored by State Street Corporation.
