Kathleen Kent is a tenth- generation descendant of Martha Carrier, the heroine of her dazzling bestseller, The Heretic’s Daughter (Little, Brown & Co.). She is also a masterful storyteller, and in this, her first novel, she paints a haunting portrait, not just of Puritan New England but also of one family’s deep and abiding love in the face of fear and persecution. Kathleen has been awarded the David J. Langum, Sr. Prize in American Historical Fiction for The Heretic’s Daughter.
