X.J. Kennedy is well known as the author of poems for adults and children as well as of writing textbooks for college students. He is a former poetry editor of the Paris Review. His publications include the collections Peeping Tom's Cabin and In a Prominent Bar in Secaucus, as well as (with his wife, Dorothy) Knock at a Star: A Child's Introduction to Poetry.
