Shonna Milliken Humphrey is a writer, editor, and writing/publishing coach who credits both children's author Ouida Sebestyen and Dr. Maya Angelou for sparking her interest in a writing career. Her short stories have been published in the New York Times, Salon, Down East, and Maine magazine, and she also writes a weekly food column in the Maine Sunday Telegram. In praise of Humphrey's novel Show Me Good Land, Pulitzer Prize-winning author Richard Russo likened the "haunting portrait of a bewildered, isolated community" to Sherwood Anderson's classic collection Winesburg, Ohio. Humphrey lives in her native state of Maine.
