Scott Kirsner is a journalist who writes about innovation and entrepreneurship. He writes the weekly “Innovation Economy” column for The Boston Globe, and has been a contributing writer for Fast Company, BusinessWeek, Variety, and Wired. He is the author, most recently, of the book Fans, Friends & Followers: Building an Audience and a Creative Career in the Digital Age. His earlier books include Inventing the Movies, a technological history of Hollywood, The Future of Web Video, and The Convergence Guide to Life Sciences in New England. Scott’s writing has also appeared in the New York Times, The Hollywood Reporter, Salon, the San Jose Mercury News, and Newsweek, among other publications. Scott helps organize several local gatherings focused on innovation and investing, including Future Forward, the Nantucket Conference, and the Convergence Forum.
