Richard Cohen

The former publishing director of Hodder & Stoughton, Richard Cohen is the founder of Richard Cohen Books and Visiting Professor of creative writing at Kingston University.  He was a five time UK national saber champion and was selected to represent the UK at four Olympic Games.

He has written for the New York Times, the Guardian, the Observer, the Daily Telegraph, and the New York Times Book Review and has appeared on BBC radio and television. 

Cohen is the author of the critically acclaimed By the Sword: A History of Gladiators, Musketeers, Samurai, Swashbucklers, and Olympic Champions.  His newest book of narrative non-fiction, for which he received a grant from the Sloan Foundation, is Chasing The Sun, which relates the cultural and scientific history of the star at the center of our solar system.
