The author of 8 in the Box and 2 in the Hat, Raffi Yessayan is the former chief of the Gang Unit at the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office, where he spent eleven years, prosecuting violent offenders. He is a much-sought-after lecturer on the issues of gangs, guns, and crime prevention strategies.
Dennis Lehane has praised Yessayan’s first novel, 8 in the Box, calling it “a terrific down-and-dirty crime novel that reeks of street authenticity.” Robin Moore, author of The French Connection, hailed Yessayan as “the best prosecutor-turned-crime-writer to hit the streets since George V. Higgins and Scott Turow.”
Yessayan is currently in private practice as a criminal defense attorney in Quincy, Massachusetts, where he is at work on his third novel.
