Kathryn Lasky is the Newbury Medal-winning author of more than 100 books for children including the critically acclaimed nonfiction titles Beyond the Burning Time and True North and the bestselling fantasy series The Guardians of Ga’Hoole. Acclaimed filmmaker Zack Snyder makes his animation debut with the film “Legend of the Guardians,” based on Lasky’s Guardians of Ga’Hoole series, which will be released in September.
In addition to the Newbury Medal, Lasky’s books have won the Boston Globe Horn Book Award, New York Times Best Illustrated Children’s Book, Library of Congress Notable Book, and the 2006 IRA Teachers’ Choice Award.
