Jabari Asim is a cultural critic and Editor-in-Chief of the NAACP’s Crisis magazine and an associate professor of Writing, Literature, and Publishing at Emerson College. His writing has appeared in the New York Times, USA Today, the Wall Street Journal, Salon.com, and the Village Voice. His books include The N Word: Who Can Say It, Who Shouldn’t and Why; Twelve Black Men Speak Out on Law, Justice, and Life; What Obama Means; and his most recent, a book of linked short stories titled A Taste of Honey, which was a finalist for an NAACP Image Award.
