Idit Harel Caperton is a learning scientist and an education-technology innovator and entrepreneur. She is the founder of the World Wide Workshop, a foundation for developing open-source applications of social media technology and game production to enhance learning, innovation, entrepreneurship, and an understanding of the world in economically disadvantaged and technologically under-served communities. She also founded MaMaMedia, an Internet media site for kids. Caperton is the recipient of numerous awards, including the 2010 Jessie McCanse Award for Individual Contribution to Media Literacy by the National Telemedia Council. She holds degrees from Tel Aviv University, Harvard University, and the MIT Media Lab.
