Acclaimed Shakespeare scholar Stephen Greenblatt, author of The Swerve: How the World Became Modern, will set the stage by describing how an ancient epic poem fueled the artistic and scientific discoveries of the Renaissance. He will be followed by two heirs to that tradition: Lisa Randall, a leading figure in the field of cosmology, will present her new work, Knocking on Heaven's Door: How Physics and Scientific Thinking Illuminate the Universe and the Modern World, and scientist and physician Siddhartha Mukherjee, will talk about his Pulitzer Prize-winning Emperor of All Maladies: A Biography of Cancer. Hosted by Christopher Lydon. Sponsored by the Plymouth Rock Foundation.
