Francisco Stork
Francisco X. Stork was born in Monterrey, Mexico and moved to America when he was nine years old. He majored in English Literature and Philosophy at Spring Hill College. After receiving the Danforth Fellowship, Stork attended Harvard University where he studied Latin American Literature. Stork proceeded on to Columbia Law School -- his plan being to support himself as a lawyer while still practicing his fiction writing. Twelve years later, he published his first novel, The Way of the Jaguar. He is now the author of four novels, the most recent being The Last Summer of the Death Warriors.
Publishers Weekly called The Way of the Jaguar a “splendidly intense debut” while The New York Times Book Review says of Death Warriors, “Stork’s greatest gift… is for capturing Pancho’s inner conflicts and the psyche of an adolescent suffering an anguish he feels he cannot reveal to anyone...”
When not writing, Stork works as an attorney for an affordable-housing agency in Massachusetts.
