Chip Kidd is an author, editor, and graphic designer best known for his book jacket designs. Kidd is the author of The Cheese Monkeys, The Learners, and the graphic novel Batman: Death by Design. He has won several prizes for his designs, including the National Design Award for Communications, as well at the Use of Photography in Design Award from the International Center of Photography. Since 1986, Kidd has worked for Alfred A. Knopf, where he is the current associate art director. He lives in Manhattan.
