In addition to creating covers for Time and the New Yorker, Charles Burns is also a regular cover artist for The Believer. Burns has also designed sets for The Hard Nut, which was a New York production of The Nutcracker. His album covers include a fold out of Iggy Pop's Brick by Brick, and his advertising gigs include a 2003 campaign for Altoids. His graphic novels include Black Hole and more recently, X'd Out, a full-color graphic novel. Burns lives in Philadelphia with his wife, painter Susan Moore, and their two daughters.
