Carmen M. Reinhart is the Dennis Weatherstone Senior Fellow at the Peterson Institute for International Economics. She is the co-author (with Kenneth S. Rogoff) of This Time Is Different: Eight Centuries of Financial Folly, which has been translated into twenty languages and won the 2010 TIIA-CREF Paul Samuelson Award and the Gold Medal from the Council on Foreign Relations' 2011 Arthur Ross Book Awards. Prior to joining the Peterson Institute, she was a professor of economics and the director of the Center for International Economics at the University of Maryland. She has also held senior positions at the investment bank Bear Stearns and at the International Monetary Fund.
