Alison Bechdel
Graphic Novels: Drawing the Story 2:30pm Trinity Church Sanctuary
Alison Bechdel is the author and creator of the comic strip Dykes To Watch Out For. Created in 1983, the comic strip has appeared in gay and lesbian newspapers and has been published in a series of award-winning books. Her graphic memoir, Fun Home: A Family Tragicomic, was nominated for a National Book Critics Circle Award and was named among the best books of the year by Time, The New York Times, The Guardian (UK), and many others. Bechdel's work has also appeared in a variety of newspapers, websites, comic books, and 'zines. She is the guest editor of The Best American Comics 2011.
