Adam Goodheart
Adam Goodheart is a journalist, historian, and travel writer. He has written for National Geographic, Outside, Smithsonian, The Atlantic, GQ, and The New York Times Magazine, among others. He has been an Op-Ed editor for The New York Times and is a book reviewer for The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, The Washington Post, and the New York Observer. He is the regular columnist for the Times's acclaimed Civil War series, "Disunion," and has been writing a regular column on the Civil War for The New York Times online. His new book 1861: The Civil War Awakening, has been widely acclaimed, with Kirkus Reviews calling it "beautifully written and thoroughly original-quite unlike any other Civil War book out there."
